A gauge cutter slickline is a wireline tool designed to gauge and scrape clean the wall of the tubing.

Gauge Cutter Slickline Introduction

The gauge cutter O.D. should be selected very close to the I.D. of the tubing in which it is run. It should be used prior to running or pulling a subsurface control. This assures the operator that the tubing is clear down to the point to which a sub surface device has to be run.

The gauge cutter may also be used as a paraffin or wax cutter.

While using, connect the gauge cutter with the bottom of the jar of tool string; while entering downward, jar downward and scrape off the obstructions once encounter obstructions; it also can jar upward to pull out the tool.
