Accelerators are often used in shallow well operations. In shallow well operations, due to the small elongation of the steel wire, if you want to use a hydraulic jar or a spring jar, you need to use an accelerator, so it is also called a jarring accelerator.

The lifting force compresses the spring, and the accumulated force is transmitted to the hydraulic or spring jar below. The wire tension and the accumulated force of the spring are added together, so that the hydraulic or spring jar can be opened instantly and all the spring energy is released. The wire is slackened and this is repeated until the downhole tool jars.
